No Shock: Medtronic Cuts 1,100 Jobs As Heart Device Market Lags

Medtronic said today it’s cutting 1,100 jobs. The news comes as no surprise, given the long-term doldrums in the market for implantable cardioverter defibrillators, expensive devices that monitor the heart and deliver a restorative shock if it falls into an abnormal rhythm.
